SPLENDIDS
WWB cock and Lutino hen
I started keeping Splendids back in 1992. I had a pair of 'normals' that were very hardy, being outside all the year round, producing two or three broods a year in almost all weathers. They even had one brood very late one year, and they were feeding young well into November.

Another thing I recall of that pair, was they had produced nothing but normal coloured birds for three years, and then in their fourth year, upon returning from holiday, I knew that a brood would be fledging about the time we returned. I couldn't believe my eyes to see a Pastel Blue youngster.

It was one of four young splendids flying around the flight, my reaction, which I vividly recall, was to think,"Who's put that in there ?" I am concentrating now on breeding WBB x Lutino and combining DF WBB also. I like the colour match/contrast of these two mutations, but I'm having a slow start.
Greygreen DF
Greygreen hens are rather drab, but the cockbird is beautiful.
