Some 2007 and 2008 Youngsters
Upto present, -- the season has been reasonbly good, with about equal numbers of Grass Parakeets and Rosellas. -- Some of the smaller birds are still feeding young, with a couple still sitting fertile eggs.
We'll see how it goes, but the nights are drawing in, - with time to feed young for the parents, -- getting less every day.
Yellow Pennant Youngsters
(4) Blue and (1) Normal Pennant Young - not shown.
Parents are Blue / Yellow x Normal / Blue / poss.Yellow ( so are not guaranteed to produce yellow) If the hen isn't split yellow, some of the young can still carry Yellow from the cock. -- he is the second bird up (adult plumage) in the line of four
On the other hand. even if both birds are definitely split for yellow, they haven't produced Yellow this year, -- but statistically could well produce some Yellows next year.
We live in hopes. !!!
Blue Pennants
Three young with the cock bottom right.
